Blog Social Networking

Over the years the use of social media has grown exponentially, it has not only become popular among's users of these platforms but it has also become a profitable tool used by businesses, politicians, and corporate organizations.  These technologies have been used for good and useful intentions and also malicious intent.  There have been many downsides to where social media has caused many controversies such as privacy loss and the spread of fake news.

Stated in an article "that today's technology is a given and that it be used in many new ways", this statement from Mr.Andreesen about how politicians recognize how powerful the web is and how they can use it to their advantage to raise their number of supporters when they are in a political case and also fundraising for their campaign.  I believe that it doesn't only benefit politicians it also helps the people know who they are supporting and voting for and also get more information.  I think that many politicians have benefited from social me has an outreach tool to connect and influence supporters.  I would categorize this as a beneficial use of social although it's not used by corporate companies.

However, there' always tends to be a downside to a bright side, whether we believe it or not we can't always believe what out on the web because of the whole fake news controversy during the 2016 elections social media was used for manipulative intent that had affected the results of the election and causing confusion.  In addition to that as stated in a Techcrunch article "The most effective forms of censorship today involve meddling with trust and attention, not muzzling speech itself".  Use social media could potentially blind a user's trust and judgment with propaganda thwarting the words of politicians.  That I categorize as a malicious intent for using social media.

Overall I don't think we have witnessed the evolution of these technologies. However, it has yet to stop evolving as more people around the world have access to social technologies, it will continue to evolve.
